Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser Tattoo Removal | Rhodes Laser Clinic

How does laser tattoo removal work? Basically, tattoos consist of thousands of particles of ink pigment suspended in the skin. During the tattoo removal process, the laser beam passes harmlessly through the skin, targeting only the ink particles of the tattoo. These particular lasers break down the ink in the skin cells into a much smaller particle size. Your immune system can them move the tiny particles out of the body through your lymphatic system.

Rhodes Laser Clinic uses state of the art Q-Switched laser technology to remove tattoos from the body or face. Our technology can remove all tattoo colours and ink shades without the risk of scaring. Results are immediate, however, the number of treatments will vary depending on the size and colour of the tattoo and condition of the skin.

What you can expect:

•Results are immediate and continue to improve over the next 4 weeks.

•No downtime with only 30-minute treatments.

•The number of treatments will vary depending on the size and colour of the tattoo and condition of the skin.

Treatment duration: This varies due to the different sizes of tattoos. Treatments can take from between 15 minutes to 1 hour. We can best determine this in your initial consultation.

What to do after laser tattoo removal ?

It’s very important that you follow the advice of your practitioner carefully after any treatment for tattoo removal to help make the procedure as successful as possible and to reduce the risk of complications.

Post-treatment advice may includes:

•The treated area needs to be clean and dry while it is healing. Clean with soap and water and pat the area dry. Apply Antiseptic three times a day for 3 days while the area is healing and you should keep the area covered with a sterile dressing for those 3 days. Blistering is common and is likely to occur, blisters heal very well and are part of normal healing.

•Continue to put Antiseptic over the blisters once they have popped for at least 24 hours. You may apply cool compresses or aloe vera gel as necessary for 24 hours after the treatment to help reduce discomfort and inflammation. For pain use paracetamol, but avoid aspirin as it can cause bleeding and bruising.

•Not picking at any scabs or bruising that appears on the skin of the treated area, as this can increase the potential for scarring;

•Not scrubbing the area when showering or bathing;

•Not exposing the are treated to the sun without a sun cream for at least 4 weeks to reduce the risk of disturbing pigmentation in that area. High factor sun cream should be used daily to protect the ski;
